I generally like this starter kit. wish it included a stand and bowl. I did know that going in so I did purchase them. added about $30 to the total. I would recommend the company loading these items to purchase additionally when getting the starter pack like the aftershave and alum choices. I did get several samples of soaps and aftershaves to try. would recommend that as you can't tell the smell through the computer screen and unless you used them before going to be hard to tell what you like. Razor was nice quality. I purchased a few other DE razors at the time. MR6 was in this kit. It had a good feel. about the standard length of a cartilage razor but heavier. I also got the V3 head. using Astra superior premium Platinum blades. I am happy with the results as a first time ever using DE razor. The key to DE shaving is taking your time and getting good products. The definition of good depends on the person. That is why I liked the samples and kits. Get a start and got to try several different soaps aftershaves and blades.

Great starter kit. I'm a new safety razor user and must say I am pleased. The razor I chose is a bit heavy for my liking but it will work. The brush I chose I not the best but it works. Bristles constantly falling out. Now to see how much I will be saving. Yes I did 4 out of 5 star. Why? Nothing truly deserves 5 stars. Oh ya the shipping to California was super fast. Yes I recommend even though it's not personable.

Very happy with this kit. I ordered the synthetic brush, MR7 handle, V3 head, and London Barbershop soap. I really like the scent of the soap and my wife has commented on it as well. The delivery was very fast (2 days) and I started using it right away. This is the first time I've used a DE kit to shave and I've been very happy with it after watching a couple of YouTube videos. The shave was great, two passes made my face very smooth and since I've found one pass is good for a "quick shave" which is pretty comparable in time to cartridges. I ordered the MR7 because I have larger hands and figured a longer handle would be useful, but after using it for a week, I can't say that a shorter handle would have been bad. Since I'm just using 2-3 fingers to control the razor, I don't think it matters. I'm not unhappy with the MR7, but I don't think I would have been unhappy with a shorter one either. So far, I've only used the Astra Platinum blades, but I'm happy with them. I'm interested in seeing how the other blades perform in comparison. This kit makes it really easy to jump into DE shaving and takes all of the guess work out of it. The only thing to be cautious about is to make sure you get the V3 head if you're completely new like me. Reading some forums before the purchase, people who struggled with this kit got the V3A and found it to be less new-guy friendly.
