I own three Ikon B1 slant razors. One of these I bought from a store in early 2018 that was going out of business in Pasadena, CA. I don't know how long the razor had been in inventory, but the Ikon razor stand for sale with the razor had the same B1 coating. I have never seen another Ikon razor stand with a B1 coating. That razor has the same characteristics as the Maggard slant (sometimes the blade needs to be adjusted due to movement) and gives a similar shave which is good. However, the workmanship and performance of the Ikon slant razors I purchased from Maggard in late 2018 and early 2019 are superb. The B1 coating on the stainless steel razors appears to be flawless. There is no movement of the razor blade on the posts so there is no need for any adjustment. The razor blade is positioned/slanted so that the razor blade has a "guillotine" slant. It is not extreme. but you will notice it. Using my favorite blade (Voskhod) my shaving experience is excellent. I get a very close and comfortable shave with no irritation or weepers. I highly recommend the Ikon B1 slant razor, especially since the price has been reduced since my purchase from Maggard. If you have long fingers or big hands, try the OSS Ikon handle. Buy with confidence from Maggard as the service is the best. .
