wonderful budget shave soap!

OK, some people new to wet shaving might be intimidated by shave soaps, thinking they are hard to lather. Haslinger is not difficult. I just cut a piece off of the puck with a butter knife, about an 1/8th of an inch thick and 1/4 of an inch wide, press it into my shaving mug between the ridges and drop some water from my fingers into the puck, swirl and then it is fine. It does seem to take a bit more time than a shaving cream. With a shaving cream, I might spend 30 seconds. This seems to take like 4 minutes and my hand is getting tired. I should do it for a bit, rest, do it a bit more, rest and then finally be ready. Cause if you don't work the brush into it, then you will have wasted some soap. The smell is mild. You really have to put your nose into the bowl to smell anything. Sage is a cooking herb. I looked it up on Wal-Mart. There is ground sage, rubbed sage and fresh sage. I've never cooked with it. Anyway, I can see there is a little more work involved in creating a lather, but it is doable. I need the exercise, anyway. It's a great budget shave soap and deserves more attention. It's sad that the hobby has become so elitist.

Nice scent and soap

Great lather, like all Haslinger soaps. Scent is mild and unique. It has a very nice sage scent, mildly herbal I guess. Like the Ringelblumen (Marigold) and Meersalgen (seaweed) you don’t find scents like this everywhere but they are mild and natural smelling.
