Chypres ("SHEEP-ruhs") are perhaps our favorite family of fragrances here at Barrister and Mann. They have a long and storied history, going all the way back to megalomaniac and perfume tycoon François Coty, who created the family in 1917 (and promptly sparked a fragrance revolution).

Inspired by smells indigenous to the island nation of Cyprus, Le Grand Chypre ("Leh Grond SHEEP-ruh") combines notes of bergamot, lime, labdanum, oakmoss, and a touch of patchouli to produce an elegant, citrusy heart. We wrapped it in notes of peach, rose, frankincense, cedar, cinnamon, and other supporting smells to create an elegant, slightly fruity, freshly floral design perfectly suited to the refined shaver.

Ingredients: Denatured Alcohol, Hammamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Distillate, Aqua, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Fragrance, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Extract, Panthenol, Sodium Lactate

  • Unused items (except samples) may be returned within 10 days for a full refund or store credit. For orders that qualified for free or reduced shipping, if a return causes the resulting total order size to be under the free shipping threshold (currently $59.00), the actual cost of shipping we paid will be reduced from your refund. Used products may not be returned, and all sales are final on Samples.

I won't lie, I am a bit disappointed to find out this splash is in the older Tonique base and not the newer Deltus. Knowing that, I would not have purchased the product. But I did not see it listed anywhere on the page. The scent is great, but if you are like me and want an aftershave catered to those with sensitive skin then you will be disappointed Response from Maggard: At the time you purchased this aftershave, it was not available in Deltus base anywhere (including Barrister & Mann's site). Deltus was only available in seasonal offerings at the time of this writing.

Smells Great. I am a little bummed however to find out that this is in the Tonique base. I was expecting the Deltus base I didn't know that until it arrived and I looked at the label and it had significantly less ingredients than what I was expecting. Response from Maggard: At the time you purchased this aftershave, it was not available in Deltus base anywhere (including Barrister & Mann's site). Deltus was only available in seasonal offerings at the time of this writing.

This isn't a horrible smell or even a bad smell, but the sample I bought smells very like the urinal cakes in a public restroom. Fine for a toilet but I don't want to smell like that.

LGC is by far one of my absolute favorites from B&M. The scent and post shave performance/conditioning are truly wonderful. As for Maggard, I couldn't be more pleased with Brad and his team. An outstanding outfit combined with one of the best service in the industry, places these folks far ahead of others. My sincere gratitude, folks!
