Seville is proudly offered in our new lanolin-free Omnibus base.

Everyone has a different idea of what a barbershop ought to smell like, but we tend to lean historically for this kind of stuff. Giovanni Maria Farina famously created the very first Eau de Cologne in the early 1700s, and it was an instant success. His formula was prized by the royal courts, and was so highly regarded that it's still in production today. As a result of this popularity, Eau de Cologne fragrances have been staples in European barbershops for well over a hundred years.

While we don't claim to be as gifted as Signor Farina, our Seville scent is definitely in a class all its own. Affectionately dubbed "God's barbershop" by some of our more poetic customers, Seville is a blend of lemon, bergamot, rosemary, lavender, patchouli, and oakmoss. The name comes from the famous opera The Barber of Seville, but the scent is at home anywhere. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed.

Weird soap, don't understand the hyped reviews

My first B&M soap, bought based on the reviews and popularity. Strong lemony scent when opening the jar, smells fantastic. The smell quickly dissipates when lathering though, to a very mild scent that smells of moss and a mishmash of other esoteric ingredients that I would have no idea what they are if not listed on the jar. Barbershops in the Shire might smell like this, if hobbits could grow facial hair. I cannot get a thick and creamy lather from this soap no matter how hard I try, it's always thin. More water, less water, doesn't matter. Slickness is mostly gone after the first pass. However, I do get mediocre shave from it. Not worth it in my opinion, and I likely won't try any of the other B&M soaps based on my initial experience with this one since they use the same base, but I suppose I'll keep it.

Valor seguro

I had heard and read very good opinions about this Seville soap, and indeed they are right, a great aroma, a very good shaving base which makes the blade slide easily, outstanding foaming and the skin after shaving soft and smooth , no irritations, simply GREAT

Customer review

Extremely frustrated with the performance of this soap. I’ve been wrestling with this stuff for about a month and can’t get a consistent lather. As far as scent goes, it’s inoffensive. Hardly what I would consider barbershop, mostly just lemons. This is my second B&M product, and I had similar issues the last time. I had hoped the new formula would prove more user friendly. I’ll be spending my money elsewhere moving forward. This stuff might just end up in the trash.

Cold winter days, ****** bathrooms and the smell of Seville.. Shaving doesn't get much better than that. It's difficult to find any faults in B&M's latest soap base. Easy to lather, slick and it doesn't make my skin feel dry. The scent reminds me of my favorite sauna infusion (notes of lemon and rosemary).
