Bang for your buck

I have to many Simpson brush. But this one stand out. It can do and be compare to most of the other models. Its size makes it the perfect traditional multi task brush. The hairs are densely pack and keep a nice bulb shape. It's a wonderful face latherer, good at bowl lathering, small enough to soap in any size bowl, big enough to load enough soap for multi passes... I think it's really one of the best bang for buck, and one I would recommend for first time or one brush user. Comparing; It's a little taller than my DUKE D2, but more densely hair pack(brushes can vary), and the handle have a nice grip that perform well for face lathering or switching hand positions. It's a little bigger than my 56, but still capable of precision task. It's a little smaller than my 57 (the most luxurious feel) or the D3, but still able to lather hard soap and bowl lathering. It's shorter than the Colonel X2L, that is more floppy and less densely hair pack and thus better suited for cream and soft soap. So there you have it, my recommendation as a gift for a good friend.

Customer review

After having used Simpson chubby 1, Duke 2, Duke 3, Berkeley, Case, Commodore x1...The Commodore x2 in best was perfection for me and the only Simpson badger brush I kept in my den. To this day, it's still one of my all time favorite badger brushes and one I'd always confidently recommend.

Customer review

I purchased a Commodore X3 first since it was the same size as my old brush, but lo and behold it turned out to be the same size, but MUCH more densely packed, and turned out to be a major lather hog. I don't like wasting product, so I got the X2 to try. The X2 on the other hand is densely packed too, but it's not a lather hog, it's just right. Nice and soft tips with just the right (very small) scritch to them. Great brush!

Customer review

I switched from a higher loft, floppier brush to this tightly packed Commodore X2 and am completely satisfied. It creates wonderful lather in a mug or on your face, and once you get used to it, you appreciate it even more. Size is just right — not too big, not too small. And the price is just right, too.
