This was my first safety razor ever. It was a good shave, but it's durability is questionable. The handle threads are stripped and no longer screws onto the 2nd and 3rd pieces. It's possible that I was screwing the handle on too tight that lead to the threads wearing out. This razor lasted me from early 9/2020 to late 8/2021. My son is giving me his Merkur 34c as a gift.

I regret starting with a Merkur 34C because this razors is much better. I can see why so many pair the two in reviews for starter razors, but this is really the only razor you'll ever need. Everything else is for curiosity and collection - old gilletes, new slants, vintage single edge - EJ is perfect. Smooth shaves and well balanced. Shave with personna blue DE blades.

I ordered it on Tuesday night and got it on Thursday morning, great job Maggard. I've been away from wet shaving for over 30 years and had my first shave today. The DE89 loaded with the Feather blades just provided an awesome shave. I haven't had this good of a shave in years, three passes and just outstanding. I normally have to shave once a day as close as this razor and blade gave me I just might skip a day. Goodbye Fusion!

I own multiple razors from merkur, parker, mühle, and many others. I have to say I find myself using this one most of all. It's the smoothest, closest, and most comfortable shaving razor I own. I'm so ifavorable of it that I will be purchasing another just to have an extra.
