I have a Feather AS-D2 and bought an MR7 inkwell stand last year for it since my AS-D2 did not come with a stand. It fit great! Fast forward a year, I was rounding out a purchase and decided to pick up an MR7 handle so that if I sold my AS-D2, I still had a handle that would work with the stand. Unfortunately, the MR7 handle did not fit the MR7 stand and I initially considered returning the handle. I later decided to keep it thinking I would find a use for it down the road. I am glad I did not return it.
I don't normally use long handles but decided to try the MR7 with a pre-war Gillette Tech razor head and had an excellent shave (using a Feather DE blade and Noble Otter Logbook soap). The MR7 gave a nice balance to the head. Since the grip was pretty uniform along the full length of the handle, you could move your grip to where ever the balance point would be for the razor head you are using. The MR7 is longer and a little heavier than the Feather AS-D2 handle. The MR7 is also longer but lighter than my older version Rocnel SE-P handle. The MR7 has deeper knurling than the AS-D2 handle but the general feel of those two handles is similar.
Though the hole is larger than my MR7 handle, the Blackland Razors Sabre inkwell stand will allow the MR7 to stand straight (after it settles in the hole). It was not a snug fit like the AS-D2 handle in my MR7 stand. The Rockwell 6s inkwell stand has an even larger hole, so the MR7 leans to one side when placed in that stand. There have been variations in the MR7 handles in the past, so your handle may fit better in different stands.
Overall, this is an excellent handle at a great price.
