The secrets of its success lie in the strict production process; the carefully selected top ingredients, saponification using the hot-mix method in a steam boiler, and the fact that it is slowly matured in special temperature-controlled tanks.

WHY IT WORKS - The original recipe, which dates back to 1899, ensures a frothy, compact, softening high performance foam that moisturizes the face during shaving, preventing irritation and leaving the skin incredibly soft.

Its characteristic almond scent and the ease with which the razor glides over its smooth texture make it truly unique.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE - To obtain a soft, firm foam, wet the brush in warm water, pick up the cream soap and begin to lather it in a bowl with circular movements, then lather up the face, spreading the foam over the skin evenly, right down to the root.

Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera Oil, Tallow, Stearic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxide, Aqua, Potassium Carbonate, Parfum.

Reference soap

Cella is the reference soap against which I compare all other soaps. It's a soft Italian cream/soap. What can be said that hasn't already been said? Ease of loading: excellent. Ease of lathering: excellent. Cushion: excellent. Slickness: very good. Rinses clean: yes. Aroma: you will either love it or hate it. Value: fantastic if you buy it by the kilo. Post shave feel: superb! Clean ingredient list? yep. Many people neglect to mention this but Cella does a better job of softening a tough beard than almost anything else I have ever used. Load for 20 seconds with a hot water soaked, mostly shaken out boar brush, build the lather on your face, give yourself a good scrub and you enter into shaving heaven...... Are there any negatives? Well, it has a mild, sweet gourmand scent like Dr. Pepper or Amaretto so I wouldn't want to use it on a very hot day (many do), but it is a great cool weather soap and goes well with any sort of spicy aftershave like a bay rum, VIBR, Whiskey Woods, or in warmer weather even a citrus A/S like Cella red or something lighter like Clubman Classic Vanilla. Not a good match for Aramis type Aftershaves, although the aroma is gone when you rinse it off so really you could use whatever you want afterwards. Also, some people might be allergic to the almond oil used in the formula. It is a real treat on a snowy winter day. I would get tired of it if I used it every day so I switch to something else in the summer. So, is it the best soap ever made? No, I have used better but they are 3x the price and the difference is marginal at best. Many of them are not made anymore so, this is it!

Cella Bella!

Cella is that one soap that has a person asking why they use anything else. It is that good. And the scent...wow!

Excellent shave!

Just finished my first shave with Cella almond shave soap in the red tub. I am quite impressed. I’ve been using Proraso red for about a year. Cella lathered quickly into a thick & creamy foam with a nice almond-like scent. Im looking forward to shaving with Cella again!

Wonderful Soap

Cella is a classic top tier soap. Load heavy (look up Marcos Method), face lather like you mean it and smile like the Cella man. Cella has great cushion with double edge and straight razors and rinses cleanly with a slight moisturizing effect. You can pay a lot more for incremental performance increases. A wonderful soap.

Cella, Gold Standard Soap

You can pay substantially more for incremental performance increases. However, hard water or not, hot water or cold, straight or double edge, old edge or new, Cella is a top tier Gold Standard soap. Load like there’s no tomorrow, face lather like you mean it and you too will be smiling like the Cella Man on the box.
