Henson Shaving AL13 with Medium Blade Gap: Medium --- .0016" - .0024"

Precision - Eliminate the Chatter.
Our razors are manufactured with the same Aerospace processes and in the same facility that produces components for the Mars Rover, International Space station, and production style work on Low Earth Orbit Satellites. This razor is designed and manufactured with extreme precision in mind. While most of our competition builds in allowance for casting and painting, Henson Shaving required and achieved remarkable five ten-thousandth of an inch (0.0005) tolerance on critical dimensions through the machining and anodizing process. This means your blade sits straight every time. The blade support creates the most accurate blade exposure on the market. Accurate blade exposure combined with our unique design means no vibration in the blade (or chatter). Chatter is what causes razor burn and in-grown hairs.

What this means for you is a noticeably better shave that just feels different. It truly is one of a kind.

Tungsten thrust bushing:
We have equipped our razor with a tungsten bushing which serves one purpose: to reduce friction while tightening the razor. This creates a smooth feel, with little torque required to clamp the blade in place. Tungsten has a very low coefficient of friction and is fairly hard, as well as being very corrosion resistant, so it serves well as a bushing in this application. Additionally, the reduced friction will result in less wear between the handle and the base plate.

Value - Don’t Spend. Invest. Whether you are currently purchasing disposable razors, razor cartridges at the drug store, or have signed up for a subscription program, investing in a Henson Al13 will have you seeing cost savings within the first year. The average user will get a month's worth of shaving from the 5pk of blades included. Additional blades can be purchased from anyone and it works out to about a dollar per month.

The savings add up to be quite a lot over 20 years. Do the math. (Roughly $11,000 in savings over 20 years).

Having this razor at these prices took a substantial investment and our position is to not charge customers ongoing fees or trap them in continual subscriptions. We want to make a great product at a fair price. That's it.

Conclusion. We expect this razor to be drama free, cut noticeably better, and cost significantly less than what you are currently using now. Girls & Guys alike. Period.

The hype is true - at least in my case

Several years ago, I tried to get away from the multi blade, replacement head razors available in stores and the online clubs by trying "olde timey" safety razors. After suffering with three razors and a multitude of different blades, I gave up. I have a "Bermuda Triangle" of moles on my right cheek and those inflexible blades didn't work for me. I tried many different soaps and oils too, but nothing worked. So I gave up and went back to the 4 and 5 blades with the lubricant strip. Some weeks ago, I started seeing Henson ads in my feeds and did a little more research. I ordered an AL13, medium from Maggard's and I can report so far, so good. They just may be onto something with their new design. The first shave, I did get a little razor burn, but no nicks. I've used with it four times now and still nick free.

Henson medium razor - best in my rotation

Before buying the Henson medium, I owned these razors: Karve, Gillette Tech, Timeless 0.68, Rocnel 2019 mild, Feather AS-D2, Weber, Vector SE, Alpha Outlaw. To cut to the chase, the Henson medium is now my go to as I have not shaved with another razor since getting the Henson. The blade locks in nicely. Although the razor is relatively light I have no issues, the lightness may be a benefit as it slows my shave. As described in the product info, the blade exposure, while minimal, is perfect for me. 3 passes and BBS. A winner and I got a nephew who has sensitive skin to buy one and he loves it too.

Henson razor perfection

With half a dozen mild razors in my shave den, I figured I was set for life, keep the wife happy with a small razor collection. She put her foot down at 50 soaps. I expect and get great mild shaves from my Feather AS-D2, Vector, Rocnel mild, Weber, Timeless 0.68, Krave A. But I bought a Henson medium, a razor I've been looking for: the holy grail. The Henson medium razor has the mildness of a Feather, precision of the Timeless, feel of the Vector, Krave and Weber - all attributes all in one. The Henson is easy to navigate in tight spots under my nose. I've shaved with the Henson for a week and have no nicks or weepers. The blade feel is beyond words - it is perfect. Please don't misunderstand this review, the Timeless, Feather, Rocnel, Vector, Krave and Weber are terrific razors, no buyers remorse here. But, imho, if you are looking for perfection, maybe the Henson razor is for you too.
