Merkur 37C 2-Piece double-edge safety razor, with an elegant chrome finish, slant-bar head and heavy weighted (3”) knurled handle for fine control. Also known as the 37C, it is compatible with all double-edge blades. It's a heavy duty razor, made to handle your beard.

Material: Brass handle, die-casted zinc razor head, galvanized surfaces, bright chrome-plated
Product Details: Closed comb, slant
Locking system: Long screw, two-piece safety razor
Handle Diameter: 1,2
Dimensions: 4.2 cm x 2.5 cm x 8.3 cm

Made in Solingen, Germany

MATERIAL
The head of the safety razor is manufactured using the zinc die-casting process since it creates instruments with maximum precision even for complex shapes. In order to ensure a comfortable weight distribution, we only use brass for the handle. The chrome finish protects the razor from corrosion and underlines the high-quality design.

PRODUCT DETAILS
A safety razor with a closed comb is the all-rounder for classic wet shaving. Intuitively, you will feel the best shaving angle for your safety razor and immediately achieve ideal shaving results. The generous blade gap allows high soap flow protecting the razor head from clogging with cut hair or lather residue.

Customer review

This was actually my very first DE razor the wife bought me almost 25 years ago the guy at the knife shop told her it would help with the razor burn and irritation I always got from shavings with a cartage razor. He was right and she even splurged for a really high dollar Silver Tip Badger Hair brush that I still use today. I started of with the Merkur blades and the were great used them for years then I started using a Astra Platinum because I could by a 100 for real cheap it is now my go to blade. It finally got a tiny nick in the chrome on the guard. I then started shopping for another, Ikon Slant is not the same but I still use it from time to time. The Above the Tie Slant is the closest to the style of this razor and I use it about every other day 3 at the most but it is not a cheap razor at all but I'm guessing if this little pot metal and chrome razor is still in the mix after having it for over 25yrs the Above the Tie should last the rest of my life and be past on for generations to come. Don't be afraid of the slant bar give a try if you have a course beard and sensitive skin take your time at first until you get confidant with it and you will not be sorry you did.

Customer review

Since the Merkur 34c is one of my favorite razors (I use it a LOT), when I wanted to buy my first slant razor opting for the Merkur 37c was not that difficult of a decision. Hence, I am not one bit surprised that after using this shaving weapon once, I already can tell how amazing it is. Of course, that might have much to do with the other gear I used as well. I just shaved with this thing this morning, after receiving it from Maggard's yesterday (there was a delay in shipping - NOT Maggard's fault - usually I get my gear in 2 days). I used the 37c (feather blade), Catie's Bubbles Le Piment De La Vie Soap, Maggard's brush, and Stirling Sandalwood AS splash. With the first swipe of the razor, I knew I had a winner. This thing sliced through my 3 day stubble with such ease I was actually alarmed. Within 2 passes, my face was completely smooth. I would call that success. After I rinsed my face and applied the AS I got dressed for work, sprayed on my favorite cologne (Bvlgari Man in Black), and left the house feeling (and smelling) like a freakin' rock star. And, as usual, Maggard's rules in every way imaginable.

Customer review

I got a bad one, Merkur quality control failure. As always Brad and Casie are great and I'm very sure they would have helped me if I had requested such. I have a Merkur 20C which has served me well. I have moved on to more aggressive razors and have been getting great quick shaves from my Razorock Stealth Slant and my Muhle R41. My shave routine is quite maxed out in order to handle these prime cutters without nicks or noteworthy razor burn. I wanted to add this 37C in hopes of finding another favorite. Well after 7 bad initial shaves (nicks and burn every time) I knew I was well past my "figure it out" phase. Close examination revealed that the blade edges were quite wavy and there was an internal quality problem. No amount of careful reassembly fixed this. The base plate has 2 clamping surfaces that hold the blade tight to the top cap. There was unremoved die cast flashing extending above these clamping surfaces. All 4 corners had either a ridge of flashing, a lump of flashing or both. My Dremmel tool, a magnification glass and significant time removed these spots and buffed them up smoothly. The blade edges now look as I believe they were intended too. I immediately got 3 nice aggressive shaves without nicks and with much less razor burn each time. I lost my chrome plating in a couple internal spots but I think I have a real keeper now, instead of the plain bad razor I received. I don't need any compensation. I only want to warn others to keep an eye out for this problem and to pass back my experience in hope that Maggard's and Merkur might realize there is room for QC improvement at the Merkur factory. I have noticed many very good reviews for this razor with a much smaller amount of bad reviews. This could be due to inadequate routine/technique or quality control issues, as I just found. I am confident that this review is fair and accurate.

Customer review

I'm a life long wet shaver and have been using the standard Merkur 34c hd for a long time but wanted to try the slant version as I often go 4 or 5 days between shaves. I ordered this razor a week ago and left my beard and head "go" (I shave both!) just to have some substantial growth to give the slant a good test. Today gave it a trial run with my favorite blade and would have to say quite simply...Amazing! It will be my "go to" razor from this day forward when I have substantial growth! It eliminates the need to use an electric trimmer to knock it down first, while providing a smooth, super close shave! No pressure needed, just let the razor do the work! Thank you Maggard razors, as usual, for providing great service all the way around!
