Le Pew !

This starts off smelling like cat **** then it's heavy lilac, so you smell like a fruity *** afterwards. It's a scent from the 1800s ultra classic but I can't take it.

Disappointed

Got a sample of this. I remember my father using Lilac Vegetal aftershave when I was a kid, back when it came in a glass bottle. This doesn't smell at all like what I remember, and it isn't particularly pleasant as something new. I do see where the other folks are getting "urinal puck".

This is a polarizing scent. Some love it and some hate it. Personally, I smell a urinal cake that has been basking in a heavily used, unflushed urinal. I pick up some floral notes, but I can't get past the heavy urinal scent up front. Definitely try a sample before buying.

I have to say the scent of this product reminded me of a public urinal (like other reviewers) with the big purple mint deodorizer in the center...Fortunately I got the sample size...tried it and was sent directly to the shower by my wife to wash it off. My wife first grabbed our toddler and sniffed her diaper thinking she had sprung a leak then sniffed my face and promptly made a horrendous face...Then it was shower time and while showering she poured the rest down the sink...Maybe it would lighten up but who wants to smell like a cat peed on their face for 20 minutes??? There are many great floral aftershaves out there but this is not one of them! Sorry Clubman but a least I still love the original.

IF possible, try before you buy. I was able to sample this and found it to remind me of the urine of a very sick cat. And it had staying power. Smell is so subjective that I hate to review a fragrance, but I do think this is one you really should sniff before you invest in a bottle. It's been around for ages, so many must love it. I've also read that it's a good idea to pour a little of it into a cup when you start your shave and let it air out before you put it on.
