After Shave Toner Scent:

Our Lilac scent is a fairly true to life lilac scent. This particular scent is made with fragrance oils.

Maggard Razors After Shave Toners are non-alcoholic splashes designed to refresh and sooth skin.

We use a Witch Hazel base for its astringent properties, soothing aloe, and glycerin for its moisturizing effect. Combine these great ingredients with our signature scents you won't be disappointed!

Ingredients: Hammelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel Distillate), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Vegetable Glycerin, Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifier), Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol (preservative), Fragrance.

After enjoying the soap I wanted to get the matching aftershave. The scent matches the soap well and smells great! Nice and simple- lilac. I like the label as well it looks pretty nice. For performance- I agree with some comments about a burn. But, to me, it’s not an antiseptic “sting” that goes away. For me it feels more like when I’ve used an aftershave with bay rum/clove. It’s like a hot burn that lasts about 10 seconds. But, this doesn’t take away from the quality for me since unlike those bay rum aftershaves, the burn goes always and my skin feels great after. I did not experience that sticky feel it felt smooth for me. The scent hung around for a little while. Ultimately, if you’re a night shaver or just happen to be doing a night shave, this scent is pretty relaxing as well.

One can argue the fine points, but the burn is from the phenoxyethanol, which sounds like alcohol because it basically is.

I was hesitant to try this because I like splashes with alcohol to provide a little sting. To my suprise this aftershave had a nice sting, soothed better than an alcohol base, and the scent is a forgotten classic that lingers beautifully on your face. A bit sticky at first but goes away quickly and leaves your face feeling great.

Glad I'm not the only one that felt the burn with this (I also get it with the London Barbershop, must be something in the base). Aside from that, it is a nice non-alcohol splash. The scent perfectly matches the lilac soap. I dropped a star because it leaves my face just a touch "sticky" (along with the sting & burn). I would prefer this to be an alcohol based splash. Then again, if it were alcohol based, wouldn't it just be a lilac vegetal ripoff??
