Worth a try

I have been upgrading some brush handles that used to stock synthetic knots. This knot is a nice upgrade without breaking the bank. I find that this knot has a well balanced amount of backbone, scrubbiness without hogging up the lather. I am a face latherer, and right out of the box, this knot feels soft on the face when properly soaked. If you compare the price to performance ratio, this knot is an excellent buy. My three soaps of preference are Barrister and Mann, PAA, and Stirling. I get thick cool whip like lather every time I face lather with this knot. Of course, the key to make this knot work for you and give you an enjoyable shave is your configuration. At 70mm tall from base of plug to tips, I have found out that setting the knot at a depth of 15mm-17mm in inside brush handle is my personal sweet spot for this knot. The hole diameter on my handles are 28mm in diameter. Of course what works for me may not work for you (YMMV), but if you play with the loft before setting the knot you will also find your sweet spot and obtain maximum results from this knot. The end result will be a knot that will reward you every time you use it. I hope this information comes in as helpful to all my wet shaving brethren. Happy shaves everyone.

I've been using this brush a decent amount of time in the past year. Since all the reviews on this site are counterproductive, I'm leaving mine as well. The brush is relatively soft on the tips of the fibers, while providing appropriate backbone. However, it hogs lather like crazy. Every time you decide to make another pass, you are forced to use the soap again, or squeeze the knot, which ruins it. It is unusable with shaving soaps. If you force it on the soap for several minutes more, you might get something for a second pass. However, the amount of soap used and thrown away is enormous. It does get a bit betters with shaving creams. I would not recommend this knot, or advise anyone to throw the money on it. In fact, there are many quite decent knots on this site, I've been using their synthetic one daily.

Fantastic knot and the best knot for anywhere near this price. I don't know if I prefer the Magard's 70/30 badger boar mixed or this knot but they are both worth buying and I love them both. Thanks again!

Better knot than what you get direct from AliExpress or eBay! This is the kind of hair you find on custom artisan brushes costing $200. After buying a 26mm knot. I came back and bought another 26mm and a 28mm knot.

I was surprised with this knot. I t turned out to be among my top 3 knots. I like the suction on the face feeling. Loads good and releases soap nicely. It has substance without collapsing. Surprisingly good knot. Good price for what you are getting.
