My first Simpson brush and I could not be happier. The badger hair is packed very dense giving the brush plenty of backbone and yet soft and luxurious. I own many brushes but Simpson has already become my favorite. There is nothing like a Simpson. You owe it to yourself to add a Simpson brush to your routine.

Great brush, super soft, really a classic, EXCEPT, after losing a few hairs the first 4 shaves and none for 20 or so shaves it started to shed like a Golden Retriever in spring. 15 to 20 hairs per shave. I've been following Simpsons use and cleaning instructions. Vulfix the current owners will not respond to any emails. The brush was in rotation and was out of warranty for the sellers. Still a magnificent brush and perhaps I got a dud...but still.

I don't know what more I can say that hasn't been said about this brush a million times before. Once you hold one in the hand, you know why it has its reputation as "the" classic shaving brush. It is so densely packed with hair, even compared to other Simpsons. It's like a wall of badger on the face. This density of hair causes the brush to have great backbone for face lathering, but it is also great in the bowl. Contrary to some reviews I've read, I don't really find it to be a lather hog or think that it uses a lot of product. It's a tremendous brush, and I can add my recommendation to the mountains of praise already given to it.
