This is a very well done razor,it fits perfectly in your hand while you’re changing positions you’re able to flip the short handle between your fingers. The slant cuts are medium aggressive which is what I prefer. My only regret is for the money I wasted on similar razors at a much higher cost. Thank you Maggard’s for this selection. This thing is like a Lamborghini.

    Close Shave

Forty years ago I could drag one of those disposable razors across my face and you wouldn't even know if I were capable of growing whiskers. Things have changed. Now I have a fairly thick coarse whiskers. I had been using a Merkur 41C the past five years. I probably should have replaced it two years ago. Shaving had become a painful chore that didn't return satisfaction. Like the other reviewer of this fine razor I wanted the Lo Storto but settled for Il Piccolo. Doesn't matter now. I'm blown away by this lovely instrument. If I just want to be low effort I can get by with a single pass. But I don't because using this razor is not a chore. It effortlessly glides across my face removing stubble along the way. I do two passes on the cheeks and chin. Three passes on the neck because of the freaky grain and the neck is the most sensitive but I get very little irritation. I get the best shaves in my adult life with this razor. Best money I've spent on grooming. I did some research before buying and I saw some claims of shoddy workmanship and cosmetic defects. I found no evidence of those claims in my piece.

    Super Happy

I've used slants for a couple of years (Maggard Slant and Merkur 37C) and was never a fan of the Maggard (sorry) but like the Merkur. I decided to see what might be available in a slant open comb and found the Fatip il Piccolo Storto and Classic Lo Storto. The highly reviewed Classic Lo Storto was out of stock so I "settled" for the il Piccolo, but I am definitely not disappointed in this razor. I was nervous at first with the open comb but easily adapted and found the technique to be similar to closed combs. I can definitely feel the closeness of the blade as it delivers a shave closer than my 37C. The weight and feel are comfortable. My only knock on the Fatip's is the 3 piece design. I definitely prefer the 2 piece of the 37C for ease, safety, and speed of changing blades. My one regret is I wish I had bought the il Piccolo in gold; seems fitting to match the performance.
