Terrific razor — mind the angle

I use this head on iKon's stainless-steel bulldog handle. I love the comfort and efficiency of the shave it provides, and I've learned that this razor really likes the handle to be far from the face: ride the edge of the cap and pretty much ignore the guard. I use Grooming Dept Moisturizing Pre-Shave, and with a good lather that provides excellent glide, which makes shaving a delight with this razor.

Well made razor head. It is more aggressive with the Feather blade than my other razors. Well worth the price if you are looking for an open comb razor. Give it try. Lightning fast shipping.

Shaves very well, i got a BSS on my first shave. I like open combs as they do not clog as easily. I also do not cling to the old mantra that they ar "more aggressive" than the same razor in closed comb. Aggressiveness is determined by blade gap and head design, not "comb-ness". Tne reason I dropped a star in ratings is that the part of the comb that touches your face has a sharper edge than razors like my Parker 24C. It results in a more uncomfortable shave IMHO. As the head is solid aluminum and not coated Zemak, instead of returning it, I used my Dremel and a polishing bit to smooth the part of the comb that touchs the face and VOILA it is perfect. But IKON should have done this.

I usually shave with an R89, but I'll shave with a 37C slant if I've skipped a few days and need something a bit more aggressive. In my opinion this short-comb razor is a perfect middle-ground between the R89 and the 37C. I would describe it as efficient without being aggressive. The short-comb easily handles a few days worth of stubble, and it is much more forgiving and comfortable than my slant. I also appreciate that this head completely covers the non-cutting edges of the razor.

Head well collects stubble. There's a lot less aggressive than R41 and much more forgiving.
