As requested by Casie, here are my thoughts on this pre-shave oil.
This pre-shave oil is without a doubt one of the things that makes my shave easier. It helps add a slick layer to my skin and especially helps me when I'm shaving my neck, which is easily irritated. This oil is a hell of a lot cheaper than the price of the Art of Shaving pre-shave oil and the quality is quite the same.
Ratings time!
-Slickness: 4/5. If your skin isn't well prepped you'll making your shave a tad bit more difficult. I advise that you wet your skin and then apply a dab of this oil, rubbing it relatively well into your skin. This oil adds an extra layer of protection in order to help prevent razor burn, so I would highly recommend giving it a shot if you're having difficulties. This oil isn't greasy and allows your razor to glide with ease.
-Scent: 5/5. Y'know... it's a very lovely lavender scent. I'm not proud to admit this but it smells kinda like fruit loops to me. That might just be me though. The scent isn't overbearing and is perfect for daily shaves. I'd say that the scent is gender neutral, personally.
-Price: 5/5. While it's true that making your own pre-shave oil is inexpensive, this kind of oil is probably your best bet if you're on a budget and don't feel like making your own. $7.95 is one hell of a deal and though 2 oz. of pre-shave oil may not seem like a lot, it lasts a very long time. All you need is about an almond sized dab for your skin, but it really depends on what you're shaving. I imagine lady shavers will likely have to apply more than male shavers.
Narrative:
Best pre-shave oil if you're a fan of pre-shave oils and don't feel like having your wallet scream at you. If you're unsure what scent to get, you can always try the samples that the maggards sell. These oils all work the same, but are scented differently. If you have problems with pre-shave oils then I would not recommend this product for you. I have combination oily/dry skin and have few issues with this product. If anything, the extra layer of cushioning makes my initial pass easier since I'm ridiculously prone to razor irritation.
