I was on a hunt for a synthetic knot that did not look like a badger/boar knot. When I visited Maggard Razors in person, Brad showed me all the synthetic knots and I picked up the black and white as well as this timberwolf (both in 24mm). I put this knot in a 25mm Maggard Razors Shaving Brush Handle with the default seating (no coins to make the handle plug shallower). The timberwolf knot had more splay than the Maggard black and white knot but maybe a little less splay/more backbone than the Plissosft knot in Razorock Disruptor. The fibers are very soft. I really like the timber wolf and Maggard brush handle combination. It is one of my favorite brushes. For reference, Brad gave the Maggard synthetic brush backbone order as follows (from least backbone to most): blonde, banded, timberwolf grey/black, then black/white.

I used this knot to rebuild a shedding boar brush and had great results. Following Brad's advice, I set the knot 15mm deep for a little extra scrub, resulting in a loft of roughly 50-52mm. I wouldn't say it's scrubby like a boar or horse knot but it has a nice, massaging face feel with soft tips and easy splay for face lathering. Loading the brush with Reef Point Soap was quick and easy resulting in plenty of lather for a perfect 3 pass shave. I have no problem recommending this knot to others looking for a synthetic option.
