Luxury

This feel luxury in a big densely packed brush. As per Simpson site, this brush leans more towards the 23mm, long knot, with a resulting in a near 65mm bloom knot, compare to my 56, 21mm, short knot, with a resulting near 50mm bloom knot. There's a big gap between the two brother, the 56 being good at small bowl and face touch up, while the 57 feels more of a big luxury brush. So for me, this is my week-end luxury brush, when I don't mind over using some soap in a big bowl for that little more of everything feeling. Just wish there would be a 56.5 model between these two for a more casual-versatile uses.

Customer review

This is my first Simpson brush as well as my first badger brush. I live a little less than 200 miles from the store so instead of taking a leap and buying online, I drove to the store to pick one out. I am glad I did, because I wasn't even looking at this one online. The brushes have that (objects in the mirror are not as they appear) when you look at them online. What looked like a large fluffy knot online turned out to be a little smaller. So, that is how I ended up purchasing this one. This brush was a great choice for me cause it has a large enough handle so I can bowl lather w/o the brush constantly banging on the side of my mug, and I can face lather with it as well. The loft in comparison to the knot is perfect. I have plenty of backbone with this brush with just the right amount of loft. This brush is packed, and in no way is it floppy. The handle is also very nice. The size of the handle and the backbone to amount of loft is what sold me on this brush. This is a fantastic brush and is not a shedder. If your looking for a brush to bowl and face lather with, I highly recommend that you look at the 50 series brushes. I am so glad I made the drive. I got great customer service from Brad. I told him what I was looking for in a brush, and he got several out of the case and showed them to me. I now have a perfect brush, (well perfect for me). I highly recommend looking at the 50 series brushes, as well as making a short drive to make such an investment. HAVE A HAPPY SHAVE!
