Col Conk Amber Traditional Shave Soap, 2oz

My go to soap, this is my daily driver. I disagree that it doesn't lather well or isn't a good shave soap- it just took me an extra minute of practice to get the right consistency. Overall, this soap yields me the least irritation. It is a very slippery soap when whipped up right; it is not too thirsty and doesn't dry my skin out at all. Highly recommend! Can't beat that price for the quality.

Great glycerin soap. Nice understated scent. It’s not tallow based so it’s not as rich a tallow soap, but still a very good slick lather.

I use this sort of like the previous reviewer as a pre-shave – but I use it to load up my brush before adding a bean sized amount of TOBS Sandalwood to whip up a fantastic uberlather. I say uberlather because this contains glycerin which is the major difference between a soap+cream superlather and a soap+cream+glycerin uberlather. The combination lathers up like it’s the consistency of Cool Whip and glides smoothly. A small amount of both products gives me up to 4 passes and the scents complement each other nicely. As a plus, it saves a lot by using much less TOBS cream and getting a much better lather than either product alone.

As a shaving soap, this is almost useless. It lathers well enough, but can't even compete with LASSC, TOBS, or Poraso when it comes to shaving performance. Well now you're probably wondering why I gave this four stars... I actually use it as a preshave soap to wash my face prior to lathering up, and it's quite good at doing so! My skin is clean, slick and ready for lather afterward. The scent is wonderful and subtle; not overpowering by any means. Slightly sweet with some woody undertones. Easily the best smelling of the Conk soaps.

Love the scent. The lather isn't the easiest to build but overall this is a nice soap.
