"The sage in bloom is like perfume", that's where we started when we decided to make a new scent dedicated to the state of Texas.

Lonestar is our vision of that scent. The olfactory experience starts with top notes of sage and lemon, followed by the heart notes of magnolia and Texas cedar. Finally, the base notes includes the truly Texas experience of oakmoss, leather and hay. With Lonestar, we can all be Texans at heart.

Notes: Lemon, Sage, Magnolia, Texas Cedar, Oakmoss, Leather, Hay

Ingredients: Stearic Acid, Beef Tallow, Aqua, Coconut Milk, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Kokum Butter, Mango Seed Butter, Sodium Hydroxide, Lanolin, Fragrance, Bentonite Clay, Sodium Lactate, Allantoin, Citric Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Tetrasodium EDTA, Aloe Vera, White Willow Bark Extract, Watermelon Extract, Tussah Silk

There's lemon, and there's lemon oil

I'm currently using 2 soaps, TOBS St. James, and Lonestar. They both list lemon as a scent. TOBS has a lemon oil scent which I like as a fragrance in cooking, it just seems a little out of place on my face. Lemon oil is used in furniture polish, so it sets up a dissonance in my little noggin. Actual lemon is light and fleeting.

It's a nice scent while I'm shaving

I'm currently using 2 different soaps that list lemon. Lonestar has a lemon scent in it. TOBS St. James has a lemon oil scent in it. They're similar, yet distinct. The lemon is a little more open in scent. When I cook, I use lemon oil as a base note (lemon zest), and lemon as a final note. I'm almost at the bottom of the tub, so I'll be ordering another one soon.

It's a scent just for my pleasure

The scents are as stated, but even after working on a farm as a youth, I don't detect hay. But to the point, the scents are for the shaver to enjoy, they're not after shave or EDP. Fortunately, for me that's a plus. It doesn't argue with anything I put on afterwards, I do have the problem that I can't use it as my only soap. I break out after about 4 days, so I keep an alternate soap to recover. The fact that I can't use it every day is the sole reason I take a star off. The alternative soap makes my face break out quicker, but I can go from 1 to the other.

The sample doesn't do it justice

I got the sample and thought it was ok, had it squished out in an ice cream bowl to get it to the brush. Nice light scents, some I just couldn't smell. It was the best of the samples I bought and my TOBS makes my face break out, so what the hey! It's much grander in the actual tub. The scents are all there, and when I went to lather up in the bowl, I got lots of tiny scented bubbles.

Awesome scent

It's a tough scent to describe but I love it. The lemon and sage come through nicely and are the only elements that stand out on their own to me, but everything else is still there. The scent that was left behind on my face just smelled clean (not soapy, more like fresh air). I think this could smell a little bleachey to some noses so I'd snag a sample if you can, but I imagine the vast majority of people who blind buy are satisfied. As with any noble otter product the performance is top notch and the artwork on the tub is fantastic.
