Baklava - Inspired by Yaya, my grandmother on the Greek side, who made the most incredible baklava I've ever tasted, this shaving cream captures the essence of her legendary recipe. I’ve carefully recreated the warm, sweet, and nutty aroma of baklava in this luxurious formula. Made with our new shaving cream base, it delivers a truly exceptional performance, ensuring a smooth shave every time. There’s a beautiful vanilla note, which comes from the absolute we use. The scent is further enhanced by the richness of our Somalian sweet myrrh. T he tobacco absolute is very dry and subtle. The incense is blended with musk to give this composition a hazy undertone that has the subtle hint of sweetness from amber. There is a floral powdery background from the iris, which rounds out the whole composition beautifully. Boca Negra was inspired by my almost empty bottle of Boccanera. Boccanera means 'dark mouth' in Italian. The nose behind Orto Parisi is Alessandro Gaultieri of Nasamatto. Many of you may know he created Black Afgano. Boca Negra was inspired greatly by my fragrance which many compare to Black Afgano. However, Boca Negra is deliciously different. It’s scent is a rich semi sweet Dark Chocolate, Earthy, Resinous and somewhat Herbaceous mix with Patchouli & dark Woody undertones. I added coffee absolute as well, although not mentioned in Boccanera scent notes, I believe some was added. Our rendition is smoothed out with Sandalwood, & lightly spiced with Black Pepper, & Ginger. I left out the chili pepper in fear of adverse skin reactions. It smells hauntingly erotic. Chasing the Dragon is our flanker to the immensely popular Khalifa. However, Chasing the Dragon is a bit more refined and less aggressive compared to Khalifa. I think we did a superb job in creating this scent, while maintaining a mysterious, veiled fragrance that can be worn day or night. Khalifa is a very dark, decadent and an unapologetic punch in the face. Dragon shares some of the notes, but is a bit more sophisticated, with edges rounded and some added notes of star anise and other 'mysterious' notes that are sweet...almost like burnt maple syrup with a hint of florals & bourbon. Chiang Mai Notes: kaffir lime (Thailand), Thai basil (Thailand), yuzu zest, sambac jasmine (Philippines), lemongrass, mint, coconut, may chang, galagal root (India), pink pepper, Siam Benzoin (Thailand), Thai vetiver (Thailand). We love Asian culture and especially food. I’m very fortunate to be able to travel throughout the world and spent a considerable amount of time in the Asian Pacific region. My experiences have allowed me translate these into my art, which is soap making and creating fragrances, Chiang Mai was created by Thalia Ariana & myself, with a scent which is uniquely different and unlike anything you have smelled before. Many of the oils used come directly from Thailand. The inspiration are from all the beautifully fragrant smells which engulf your senses from this part of the world. Many of the ingredients are also used when creating wonderful Thai & Vietnamese food. The scent of Chiang Mai is fresh, fragrant and mouth watering. It really smells like an open air market in the countryside. You’ll be able to pick out the fresh basil & lemongrass with a hint of coconut milk and citruses such as the kaffir lime which comes direct from Thailand. Choco Cubano - Oh my...this is deliciously decadent, dirty and shameless. Much more than a gourmand, this scent evolves in its complexity to a beautiful spicy, woody & tobacco (cigar) scent. ‘Corinthian Leather’ Green, resinous, slightly creamy leather, with a unique, smooth/crisp duality. I love the balance of Corinthian Leather with its eponymous note. Leather is very much the core of this scent, but it's far from the entirety of the fragrance. Creamy vanilla, tender plant-ish notes, and warm resins unfold from that supple leather center. Corinthian Leather offers is a crisp, green, and textural leather—warm but fresh. Surprisingly, this will be a favorite scent year round and not just during cooler months. It’s really a beautiful, classy & masculine scent. To many people, the Cuban Highball (Mojito) represents the perfect rum cocktail. The origins of the drink can be traced back to Cuba and the 16th-century Cuban cocktail El Draque, named for Sir Francis Drake. Appropriately, almost all of the ingredients in the Mojito are indigenous to Cuba. Rum, lime, mint and sugar (derived from cane juice) are mixed with soda water to create a refreshing classic cocktail. The Mojito is traditionally served over ice in a highball glass and often associated with summer. This is similar to our previous version (Frozen Mojito), however, we spiked this bad boy with some extra booze and a hint of tobacco ( you think I would leave tobacco out?) Guaic Wood During gathering in Rome earlier this year , Daniele proposed a partnership to craft a bespoke soap. This marked the inception of our collaborative effort. He set forth specific aspirations, challenging me to devise a 'legacy' soap akin to MdC, timeless in its appeal. Additionally, he requested an Oud-scented creation for this joint venture. Considering his profession, I suggested our first fragrance be a quintessential barbershop aroma. Ultimately, we conceived a distinguished scent, a fusion of our collective vision, encapsulated in the novel Legacy base. Although the label displays 200 grams, each glass jar is filled with 220-230 grams of Legacy Shaving Soap. This all new barbershop scent was dreamed up in the Philippines and created in the home office. Barbershop brings some of the Asian tropics to a somewhat traditional barbershop scent. Actually, nothing we do is so traditional 😝. The stars of this scent are coumarin, talcum & mango. This is simply wonderful. Emerald Moss was inspired by my old Irisch Moos Shaving Cream. Sir Irisch Moos was a fougere masterpiece created by Mauer & Wirtz in Germany. It offered a somewhat green, very aromatic & fresh fragrance with citrus at the top, along with a wonderful soapy facet to the scent. It was so unique and ruggedly masculine. there really was nothing similar to my knowledge like this. I have used the cream sparingly over the years, because it’s virtually impossible at this point to get. Several years ago, prior to making my own soaps, I had an artisan try to recreate this for me. It was not so close, however, it was still wonderful. My goal was to try my hand at creating a scent which would get as close as possible to the original. I think we hit it out of the park with Emerald Moss . I’m so pleased with this scent, I’m not wasting any time and introducing the matching fragrance in Extrait strength. This was created in-house and absolutely not a pre-blended fragrance or duplication. Empyrean Bay Rum Notes: Clementine, orange blossom, green apple, pomegranate, rum, geranium, powder, tonka bean, coumarin, bay leaf, cedar Truth be told, I was never a big fan of traditional bay rum scents. I wanted to create a Bay Rum composition which is not typical and without cinnamon or clove oils which can cause adverse effects and irritation. I’m using real Bay Leaf and rum. In place of cinnamon & cloves, I’m using real tonka, real coumarin for warmth and added complexity. I’m also using clementine essential oil and orange blossom. In addition, I have added a hint of apple & pomegranate notes. Finally I added a whisper of geranium essential oil and a powder note which I think turned this into a beautiful scent people who don’t normally gravitate towards traditional bay rums will love. Fresh Mango is a slightly tart & sweet vine ripened goodness. My favorite fruit is now one of our favorite scents in our shaving cream. We have added a hint of black currant and apricot to this delectable new shaving cream. This is a beautiful warm & inviting scent. This may very well be among my favorites. You may think this is only a cool weather scent, but I’ll tell you this is a superb year round fragrance for day or night. You’ll definitely want to smell like this on date night though. This scent is really quite interesting and inspired by my journey to Bali in 2019. If you ask what this smells like. I'm not sure of anything quite like this scent. It offers a hint of leather, ink & absinthe, but much more went into this to create the fragrance of Indo-Ink. As mentioned, Indo-Ink is inspired by my trip to Asia and specifically a tattoo shop where I had an ancient temple tattooed beside my Ganesh. Imagine an old tattoo parlour, incense burning in a far away room, a wall full of old periodicals and new publications alike. The scent of worn leather chairs and a resinous smell which is hard to describe...but it's there. I worked real hard in creating this scent based upon my recollection of the room, people and ambiance of this Indonesian tattoo shop. Kaizen - To Constantly Improve Kaizen is our playful, bold, seductive, vibrant, and captivating soap. It's a fusion of mandarin, tangy tangerine, and zesty lemon, with a dash of bergamot and apple for a fresh and green base. A touch of neroli adds extra charm, but don't worry, it won't overpower your senses. The middle notes are a delightful mix of floral and citrus, while cedar and other woods bring depth to the fragrance. Honeysuckle and rose add a subtle sweetness in the background, never stealing the spotlight. The final stage is a surprisingly spicy and woody blend, almost like a whole new scent altogether - a truly unique evolution in a soap. Exquisite, invigorating, and a little bit quirky. The release of this was right on time...like clockwork. I think the 'droogs' would approve of this. L'Orange Verte is a soft (not weak), sophisticated, clean and complex citrus forward scent with some earthiness to it. I added two different types of orange notes, as well as lemon and bergamot. The black pepper gives it a nice twist & dimension, as does the lavender note. The oakmoss base is warm and inviting. I really love how this came out and think this will be considered among our top soaps. Notes: Bergamot, tangerine, lemon peel, orange, black pepper, lavender, neroli, oakmoss & patchouli.
