Carpathia is a tribute to Bram Stoker’s Dracula: a dark and brooding masculine scent centered around accords of black tea, exotic musk, and evergreen balsam.

Notes: Evergreen forest, musk, herbs, rose, coffee, black tea

Love these soaps, and found this scent fascinating but overwhelming.

All the scents from Southern Witchcrafts are extremely imaginative, and I like many of the samples I've tried. Lycanthropy, Pomona, and Samhain are my favorites. Performance-wise, the vegan base lathers even better and more reliably than plenty of non-vegan soaps I've tried! Carpathia in many ways is an astonishing scent. It *smells* scary. It's hard to explain, but it's both ornate and predatory, like stepping out of the harsh forest into the ancient home of an unseen vampire. It's transporting and uncanny. I've never had a scent get stuck in my head before, but it's honestly hypnotic in a way that made me need to clear my head. I imagine that as it develops on your skin it will mellow a little, but I haven't been able to get that far.

Smell Haunted

This smells like the inside of a haunted house. Not an old haunted home, but a Halloween season haunted house attraction. It’s my favorite scent, and I’m now a huge SW fan after this and my previous favorite, Autumn Ash.

Scent: Polarizing, for sure. It's a very different scent. Occasionally I would think, "this smells kind of like potpourri." Not flowery but there is a hint of a flower. Overall, I like it but it will not be for everyone. It's definitely a fall/winter scent. The scent does mellow out after a while and smells better. Performance: Top notch! Easy to lather, very protective, slick, and a good post-shave feel (especially for a vegan soap). For me, Dr. Jon's is the gold standard for vegan soaps but Southern Witchcrafts matches them on performance.
