This is Irving Barber Company’s first patent pending razor available for retail purchase. We have spent years developing this multi-disposable blade straight razor. This has a dark maroon scale ("handle"). Nice looking finish adds texture to what would be smooth surface on chrome finish. Also has a great contrast to the chrome blade. Price difference is only because of the extra processes to achieve maroon final product.

Irving Barber Company is the first to bring you a razor with voids for bent edges after breaking double edge blades. No need for rivets with our stainless steel pivoting hardware and molded scale stabilizer. This I.B.C. razor has a magnetic blade stabilizer for helping blades stay in place while seating. The weight of our razor has been meticulously shifted for an even, balanced feel, that glides comfortably. Contoured lines allow for a stable and pleasing grip at all angles. With this razor you can use a double edge blade for lineups and touch ups.

Additionally, use thicker cartridge blades for a full shave without any extra inserts or adapters. Every blade type used will have consistent blade exposure, so you can edge corners with precision no matter which blade is loaded. Try our Irving Barber Co razor today!

Wanted to make correction. Screw is not captive. If u keep pressure on it it slides up the shaft and will unthread it wont come out unless u push up on the screw to force it to unthread. Still think its a smooth shaver and still awkward to shave with.

It's nice looking, the ergonomics are awkward. The short tang and lack of texture make it seem like it's going to slip. I noticed it likes a steeper angle than other shavettes I have. U cannot close the razor with a blade in it. It bottoms out on handle which will dull the blade, they mention that it's designed to be able to remove blade with it closed... The screw is captive so u won't lose it. It shaves smooth and it's nice. It's just the ergonomics arent that well. As for blade movement? I used feather artisan blades and it didn't move at all. Blade alignment was good. Overall it's a nice razor. Just not a pleasant one to use if u aren't used to shavettes. I personally didn't mine but that's only because I'm used to shavettes and shave everyday, beginners may not like it.
