I’m 36 years old used many different aftershaves in my life and none of them burned my skin like this one did. I read up on some forums that many compare the burn of Ogallala as minimal like Thayers Witch Hazel aftershave. I have used Thayers in the past and I don’t recall any significant burn. I shook up the Ogallala and poured the same amount I use from all my other aftershaves in my hand and applied it. There was a slight delay, and then the burning hit. Even the unshaved skin on my collarbone turned red. The pain took about 5 minutes to wear off. I had to stick my face in the freezer to help alleviate the pain until then. I have never had an allergic reaction to any cologne, lotion, aftershave, or soap.
The scent is nice, leans more on the clove side.
I think I prefer the scent from Captain’s Choice Bay Rum, but I would still use Ogallala if my face didn’t feel like it was melting.
I give it 1 star for the scent.
I will never use this again.
