Customer review

This is a great brush. I am very picky with synthetics and needed one that both splays nicely and also not a pain to keep open once splayed. Minimal glue bumps are nice too, and make synthetics feel more natural to me and this one did not disappoint in that area. Synthetics are all pretty soft, so that is usually a non-issue for me. This brush is pretty good at splaying, though not perfect and with all synthetics I've tried, I don't think that level exists quite yet. There is one special thing about this brush however: if feels a lot like a nice boar! It doesn't splay like one, but there's a gentle scrubbiness to it that is quite nice and reminds me of the finer-tipped Semogue boars I've owned. It's never pokey as the tips are quite soft, but there's something about the gray part of the fibers that makes them feel very boar-like. I'll take one of Maggard's Timberwolves over a Plissoft any day, that is just one knot I do not like as those usually have massive glue bumps and feel very generic. This is a great brush though, whether at home or on the road, it will stay in my rotation!

Customer review

The only other synthetic brush I own is the Maggard's black and white 22mm with the short handle. I bought this bush because of the longer handle and it was on sale during Black Friday. Compared to the black and white synthetic the timberwolf fibers are very soft just not as soft. This brush has less backbone and is more floppy. The longer handle is great for me since I tend to get lather on the top part of the handle and can make holding the brush difficult. There has been a little bit of shedding of the fibers, but not much. Overall, this brush is fantastic for the price. It is a joy to use.
