Not a Bay Rum scent

This aftershave starts with a heavy handed dose of menthol. Way too much for my liking, it's almost like it's burning to the bone. After an uncomfortable 30 or so minutes of that you find the scent. It's far removed from what anyone would consider a Bay Rum. It's a mild skin scent of citrus, bitter molasses, and licorice. Lasts maybe an hour and no one will smell it unless they press their nose to your skin. So if you're into the black licorice smell and having no one else smell your aftershave this may work for you. I personally was looking for a real Bay Rum as they're some of my favorites, so the scent is a dissapointment for me. Aside from that and the overpowering menthol burn it's a decent aftershave.
