This one is a great find! It is safe and easy to use. One of my best buys among years.

I regret starting with a Merkur 34C because this razors is much better. I can see why so many pair the two in reviews for starter razors, but this is really the only razor you'll ever need. Everything else is for curiosity and collection - old gilletes, new slants, vintage single edge - EJ is perfect. Smooth shaves and well balanced. Shave with personna blue DE blades.

I ordered it on Tuesday night and got it on Thursday morning, great job Maggard. I've been away from wet shaving for over 30 years and had my first shave today. The DE89 loaded with the Feather blades just provided an awesome shave. I haven't had this good of a shave in years, three passes and just outstanding. I normally have to shave once a day as close as this razor and blade gave me I just might skip a day. Goodbye Fusion!

I own multiple razors from merkur, parker, mühle, and many others. I have to say I find myself using this one most of all. It's the smoothest, closest, and most comfortable shaving razor I own. I'm so ifavorable of it that I will be purchasing another just to have an extra. Extremely satisfied with the prompt shipping and the care used to package my order to ensure a blemish free arrival of my razor. I received an order shipped email almost immediately after I ordered the razor which tells me these guys don't mess around. I really like and appreciate that! You definitely have a repeat customer here. Thank you!

Over time, this has become my favorite razor. I also own a Merkur 34C (reviewed elsewhere on this site), and several other DE razors, including TTO ("butterfly"), adjustable, Slant, and Open Comb styles. Most of them provide a very satisfactory shave; some require greater care (or more passes) to achieve results comparable to this one. I find that I return to the Jagger DE89 most frequently among those I own. It seems to give the best overall performance with a variety of blades, including GSB, Personna, Feather, PolSilver, and others. The shaves are quite smooth, and the razor is very forgiving -- seldom a nick or cut, even with multiple passes and touch-up. If I could keep only one "under $50" DE razor, as of today, this would be my choice. All razors are YMMV experiences, but this one is a great place to start if you are unsure and don't want to (or cannot afford to?) "shop around" until you find the right one.
