I normally use Taylor of old Bond Street shaving creams. I tried this Edwin Jagger Sandalwood in a sample and couldn't believe how well it performed. The scent is very, very light, so if you're looking for a bold, spicy Sandalwood, this is not it. It does smell good, just very light. I swear this has twice the cushion as Taylor of old Bond Street jermyn Street. Super cushiony, really slick. I normally wouldn't spend this much on shaving cream, but it really does perform that well. A little goes a long way. By the way, when I compare it to Taylor of old Bond Street, I'm not knocking that brand, I still love their shave creams. I just love how this performs better for me.

Lite scent, airy, good lather both in the bowl and directly on the face. It's got a really good slickness with or without pre-shave oil. This pairs well with Maggard's Cherry Vanilla Sandalwood pre-shave oil. I'm definitely adding this cream to heavy rotation. There are many varieties of sandalwood creams out there - and this one is a must try. It's a 5 star in the performance category - but is relatively expensive based on volume, thus the 4 star rating.

EJ creams are very nice performers, the sandalwood scent is subtle but excellent, just a very warm comforting scent, not too synthetic or sweet.
