Too thick, too broke

I honestly love Maggards and have purchased quality products from them for years. But these red epoxy scales - just don't. They're advertised as coming 1/8", but the block I received was double the thickness at 1/4", which would have entailed quite a bit of sanding to get them anywhere near where they should be for razor scales. Even more unfortunately, I didn't even get that far as the blank cracked in half down its width while I was cutting them lengthwise. I bought horn blanks for Maggards and had them arrive in more-or-less the dimensions advertised and they made great scales. Don't bother with the this epoxy.
