Several months ago ordered samples of American Blend and Fresh Vetiver, and loved both of them. They worked well as aftershaves, and had great scents that lasted for several hours. After reading the hype about Platinum, I decided to give it a try. It was out of stock when I first looked for it, but as soon as it was available again, I ordered the sample. It was really disappointing. Opening the bottle to smell it, I mostly got a nose full of alcohol, with a faint Aventus type scent. I've tried using it several times, and each time that scent wears off in about five minutes. I don't know if there was an issue with this particular batch, or if something happened when splitting into the sample bottles, but it was nowhere near the quality of the other Fine aftershaves I've tried.

Fine L 'Orange Noir is a big disappointment,I think they forgot to add any orange scent to my batch! If it's an orange scent your looking for, look else where, because this doesn't smell one bit like oranges.

Fine is an understatement. Not sure what scents they were trying for and honestly I don't care because what they came up with is unbelievable. All are distinctly individual and smell great. I have used Art of Shaving Sandalwood and Santal Absolut is spot on. It lasts all day without the $75 pricetag. Really fantastic sampler. The only downside is trying to decide which I like the best. Maybe I'll just keep buying the sampler.

I got Platinum and American Blend. Absolutely the best aftershaves I have tried yet. The American Blend is a take on a barbershop scent. It has a touch of spice in it to my nose but it is a great scent. The Platinum I wasn't sure about having never smelt Aventus before but it is by far my favorite of the two. A great clean masculine scent that lingers for a while. Both leave a great face feel afterwards with enough of a burn during application to wake you up. Absorbs rather quickly. Great Stuff.

I have to agree with AJ in most areas. I've recently purchased all six samples of Fine aftershave. I have to say they are all great smelling scents. The snake bite has a slight scent of mint at first which goes away and feels like really cold, if you can handle the feeling and if you want your aftershave to not get in the way of you cologne. American blend smells great, it's a pleasurable smell that puts you in the place of a old time barber shop, that being said I don't want to smell like a barber shop or my grandpa. My favorites are L'Orange noir which is a nice fresh citrus scent nice for summer. And fresh vetiver and Platinum, well they do smell great I'm thinking of wearing them as a cologne, if the smell last long enough. Finally clean vetiver it doesn't smell bad, but it doesn't smell great and it's definitely my least favorite.
