Haslinger Schafmilch (Sheep Milk and Lanolin) Shaving Soap - The purely plant-based shaving soap with sheep's milk has soothing properties and is particularly suitable for sensitive, delicate or stressed skin.

It produces a creamy, rich foam for a pleasantly soft and clean wet shave. Sheep's milk contains a high proportion of proteins (fats) that help restore the skin's natural protective barrier and stabilize the skin's acid mantle. The vitamin-rich organic sheep's milk cares for your sensitive and stressed skin particularly gently.

Shaving soaps from Haslinger are suitable for women and men.

My daily driver - brush type matters

I’ve been using this soap since 2016. Not sure when the formula changed to tallow free. Regardless this is my go to daily shaving soap. Ghost Town Barber & Mitchell’s Wool Fat are tied as my #2 soap. I use a Muhle R41 with a Feather blades and pre-shave with Brito glycerin lime soap. I am somewhat baffled by the bad reviews. I found my cheapo Omega Boar Brush is vastly superior to my Kent BK8 for developing a lather. So maybe brush choice makes a difference in your experience. Otherwise a simple faint scent that’s plenty slick and protective for using with an aggressive razor.

Spectacular shave!

The review title says it all; arguably the best shave soap I've ever used. Haslinger sheep milk soap results in a comfortable and incredibly close shave on one pass. A bit of a touch-up on my throat - always a tough spot for me - a cold water rinse, Proraso sensitive skin after shave balm, and I'm good to go.

Customer review

I was really disappointed. Weak lather and absolutely no slickness to this soap. This was a surprise, given the many good reviews. It sounds like the formulation changed recently. After one terrible shave that left my skin feeling like I sanded by beard off, I threw this puck in the trash. After giving my skin a couple of days to recover, I gave Haslinger's Sandenholz a try and it was so much better! They make a good soap, just not this one.

Customer review

I have tried most of the Haslinger soaps and they all perform well and provide a nice post-shave feel. This one has a mild clean scent like Dove soap or MWF. Since I prefer the distinctive scents of Ringelblumen, Sandenholz and Meersalgen, I took some of the Schafmilch (which has almost no scent) and grated it into a bowl half-and-half with G.F. Trumper Violet, which smells great but needs help to make a decent lather. Voila - the combo works great and smells great too.

Customer review

The new formulation sucks. It lacks the slickness that the previous tallow version had. it feels like it's cleaning your face like a regular bar of soap. I also got a burning sensation when applied to the face even before shaving. The scent is very nice i think, a very fresh clean floral soapy scent. Bring back the old formula!!!
