Using the same black shaving soap formula used in our Blackfern and The Black Rose shaving soaps, which includes activated charcoal and French red clay and provides lots of rich slick lather.

Vert Noir is a green scent that is great for those looking for a scent with plenty of fresh plant notes that aren't overly floral.

Please note that this is our new French red clay & charcoal base, which provides excellent slickness and post-shave that rivals any tallow soap while remaining true to our vegan roots. This base needs a little less water than a lot of other soaps on the market, so load using a damp brush then add water to the point where a thick creamy slick lather is achieved.

Ingredients: Stearic Acid, Palm Kernel Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Water, Aloe Vera Juice, Essential Oils (Sea Buckthorn Essential Oil, Activated Charcoal, Bergamot Essential Oil, Organic Cypress Leaf Essential Oil, Frankincense Essential Oil, Violet Leaf Absolute, Jasmine Absolute), French Red Clay, Sodium Lactate, Allantoin (comfrey plant).

This soap is fantastic! The lather, slickness, and postshave are outstanding, just as with the rest of the LASSC soap line. You would never guess that this wasn't a tallow-based soap. Appearance-wise, it is a bit unusual. The charcoal gives the soap a silvery-grey color, just as with Blackfern and Black Rose. Unlike those soaps, however, Vert Noir has somewhat unappealing tinges of green. As for the scent, the most prominent note is the unmistakable fragrance of violet flower. It's not unlike GFT's violet shaving cream, but far more subtle in strength, and not cloying. The base is rather hard to describe, but it is distinctly "green," and "plant-like." This is not my favorite scent, but it is a very elegant and sophisticated Fougere.

So I got a sample of this soap because It has bentonite clay which I was curious about. This is one unusual looking soap. Its kinda greenish grayish silvery mix with a texture harder than most. And a scent that is hard to describe. I didnt have much expectation about getting an easy lather. Anyway, put some in a bowl, took a guess about how much water, and started my brush going. It wasnt an easy lather but It wasnt a difficult one either. This soap made a ton of nice thick lather and the scent really exploded. I had about four days beard growth and a new blade. What a great shave. Bentonite clay? Maybe, I couldnt say. Very slippery even on four days growth. I actually liked the scent, but I am at a loss to describe It. Kind of something like a hippie spa owner might use. So if you own a spa and wear socks with sandals ,buy this soap.
