Just received my black razor cover and it fit perfectly. I wasn't concerned with my fingers more my bag that i put my razor in. I am confident i will not tear up my bag now. The leather is very soft and pliable.

It works, so why get fancier?

I had low expectations, but this actually works. Slips nicely over my Henson razor with a blade in it and seems to work good enough for travel. For protection of the handle I wrap a small piece of very soft leather around it, which doubles as a travel stropping leather. I have been looking at "fancier" travel cases but they are either crazy expensive and/or have drawbacks like snaps that scratch the razor or getting the razor out with blade installed will slice you up. Simple is good, seems to be a recurring theme in DES razor shaving.

Great item! . The Maggard cover fits most razor heads including R41, German 37, Maggard Slant and Fatip slant to name a few. This Maggard cover is great value for the money. Also saves fingers from being cut when stored. I do also have a muhle plastic protective cover, which is good for the R41, R89, DE89, 34C and a few other razors. However the muhle cover doesn't fit slants and some other bulkier heads.

If you're looking for an inexpensive and effective way to protect your razor (and/or your own fingers) this is the way to go.The leather is thin, making it soft and flexible; your DE razor should slide right in, with little effort. It''s wider than your typical razor, so the entire head will be out of harm's way. You could spend a lot more on similar products but (for me), that would be like buying diamond-encrusted ice cube trays: the adornments don't make the essential product work any better, so why bother?. This is really a good value.
