Just had my first shave with this razor. I did one pass with the grain lite pressure if any. Great one pass shave, not aggressive just efficient. I like it.

One of my very favorite razors by far. German precision engineering. Made to last for a long long time. I like long-handled razors, and while this razor is relatively heavy, it has such nice inherent balance that it practically shaves itself. Although I primarily use the razor for a three-day beard growth shave, I have found that you can also use it every day, especially if you have a relatively forgiving blade, such as a Derby, or Astra. This is the razor that should've been included when you bought your 34C. I have used the 39C daily and I usually find I need 36 hours vs 24. YOU DEFINITELY NEED YOUR TECHNIQUE DOWN. However, you can be like me and use your 34C for 5 years and continue to hard scrape yourself to more ingrown hairs. When did I learn correct technique? Honestly can't tell you. I can tell you sticking with the 34C nearly sent me back to cart country. Watch your youtube and other videos. Buy this razor and be VERY careful when you start. If you've done your homework, you will be glad you left the 34C sooner vs later. Best guess: the weight of the handle on the 39C will force you to be careful...and you will love this shave. For me, the 34C was so mild it felt like I was using a "store bought" razor to scrape away---with great blades (Feather & Personna blue)

This is not a beginners razor or someones first razor. It's aggressive, and you can feel the blade on your face. This is a razor you should take your time with. This isn't an everyday razor imo, this is a razor that would be best suited for taking down a weeks worth of growth in a pass or two. If you have sensitive skin this razor isn't for you. All in all it's a good shaver that can be slightly uncomfortable, but it's a very efficient razor. In hindsight I probably would have enjoyed the more comfortable Ikon 102 slant more.

This is an excellent razor. I find the extra weight and length to be an advantage over the 37c. It makes a great second razor after you get your technique down. It provides smooth and easy shaves with Personna Lab Blues, but can be a bit more rough with a Feather blade installed. While I find it great for everyday use, it really shines versus two days growth or more - it'll go through your stubble like butter.
