Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood Shaving Soap, 4.5oz

I am a fairly experienced wet shaver, and I was hoping to find a bargain here. Unfortunately, I can't say that this soap is in the top tier. It takes twice as long to generate a lather than most soaps, and the lather it generates is not robust and does not offer adequate protection for aggressive razors using aggressive blades. The smell is nice, but I need protection for my face when I'm using a Feather in a slant bar. Folks with thin, sparse beards, using a DE89 with a Derby blade - these folks might be fine with this. For my face, a Van der Hagan puck with a few drops of essential oils melted in performs better, costs less and smells just as good.

I absolutely love this soap. Very easy to lather when using my boar brush. Lather is slick and doesn't leave my skin dry. The scent has nice sandlewood undertones and the smell of cloves isn't overpowering. I followed my shave with the matching aftershave/cologne. I definitely recommend this pairing.

Awesome soap. Along with my broken in Omega pro 48, it makes an awesome lather in no time. The scent is great.

Good soap for the price, provides great lubrication when shaving and the scent is amazing. The only problem is that it takes a little more work to get a lather going than with other brands but still a great catch for the price
