Parker 24C Chrome Handle Open Comb DE Safety Razor

I have other razors that I like better, (RazoRock Wunderbar Slant and Feather ASD2) but for the price and for a new shaver the Parker 24C/26C razors come in a pretty close 2nd AND for almost $100 less. They are, in the words of Leisureguy Michael Hamm, Comfortable and efficient. What's not to like. You have to ignore the "open vs closed" comb debate. It, in and of itself, really adds nothing to how a razor will operate in your hand. That is more a function of blade angle and gap as well as your own particular shaving style. The Parker 24C/26C razors are very forgiving of angle and in the end that is what defines a comfortable razor IMHO. I prefer the handle of the 26C over the 24C as I do not like the grooves of the 24C, but YMMV, so you may like them better.

Yes ... this is a very good razor. No irritation, close, smooth. I have somewhat dense wiry hair that grows fast. On top of this my skin is sensitive and prone to blemishes at 48 years of age. The Parker 24C makes shaving easy while doing a great job. I guess I got lucky as my razor has no scratches or other imperfections. Cuts through two to three days growth without issue. Just a great razor regardless of price, but at this price it is that much better.

If you shave every single day, this is your razor. PERIOD. This should be the recommended shaver for new DE/Wetshavers.

This razor shaves quite well, but be aware that Parker razors come with blemishes. I received my Parker 24c with gouges/scratches, pitting, and the plating flaking off of the head. I was sent a replacement head that also contained scratches. It looked as if the side of it had been scraped with an abrasive metal file prior to being plated. Maggard says this is normal for Parker razors. It is slightly disappointing, I have cheaper, older razors that still have a perfect finish on them. The brand new Parker 24c looks as though it got into a knife fight, and lost.

Wow this is a beautiful, well balanced mild yet very efficient razor! The head is extremely well made, there are no issues centering the blade, which basically sits on the base-plate, with no noticeable blade gap other than what is exposed through the open comb. I had been very hesitant to get an open comb because they generally have the reputation of being aggressive and I have a very sensitive neck. First shave, 3 passes, no irritation, and BBS! I love this razor I think it will be my new goto razor in my collection. I would recommend this razor to anyone looking for a new razor to add to their collection, especially if you have sensitive skin. BTW I used my standard Lab Blues without any issues! Also Maggard is fantastic, quick no fuss shipping, you guys are great keep up the good work!
