St James of London Mandarin and Patchouli Shave Cream, 150ml

I like all the SJOL creams because they are so effective, but avoided this because I'm not a patchouli fan. I was wrong, the scent is great. It's been in my rotation all summer and I'm considering leaving in play for the winter.

I have tried many of "The Sharpologist's" most highly rated shaving creams and enjoyed many of them. My favorites (until now) are Taylor of Old Bond Street and DR Harris. This one arrived yesterday afternoon and, after giving it a try, I couldn't wait to comment because St James of London is in a class by itself. It produces a thick, profuse, fragrant lather. The cushioning and glide are unmatched, as are the moisturizing properties. I will continue to enjoy TOBS and DR Harris, but St James of London is the best of the best! I have tried only the Mandarin & Patchouli fragrance and will make a point of trying the others. Run out and treat yourselves to this one!

This is my first purchase of the St James shaving cream and boy am I impressed. I have at least 60 other shave creams and soaps and after trying this cream, it immediately moved into my top five slot. When I opened the glass container for the first time, my initial thought was that it was a very thin cream. But, don't let that fool you. When I took out my Simpsons Polo 12 and made two twirls in the cream, the cream and scent just exploded(and I have hard water). The smell is somewhat subtle but very sophisticated and very nice. I am a face latherer and when brush met face, it was like a nuclear explosion. Thick. lather goodness covered this old, ugly mug and I was a happy camper. After a three pass with my Above The Tie razor, loaded with a new Personal Med Prep blade, I was in wet shaver heaven. This cream is a Hidden Jewel and I know a thing or two about quality performing shave creams and soaps. If you are looking for a top notch performer; look no further than St James creams.
