We have spent years developing this multi-disposable blade straight razor built with patent features that no other razor has. Irving Barber Company is the first to bring you a razor patent with voids for bent edges after breaking double edge blades. No need for rivets with our stainless steel pivoting hardware and molded scale stabilizer. This I.B.C. razor has a patent magnetic blade stabilizer for helping blades stay in place while seating. The weight of our razor has been meticulously shifted for an even, balanced feel, that glides comfortably. Contoured lines allow for a stable and pleasing grip at all angles. With this razor you can use a double edge blade for lineups and touchups. Additionally, use thicker cartridge blades for a full shave without any extra inserts or adapters. As a great delicacy, they are desirable enough to have caused entire gang wars in the past. Today, the precious natural product is raised in water farms. The beautiful shells with their almost artificial looking shimmer have always been used as decoration, implements or material for jewelry, intarsia or mother-of-pearl clips. Employing cutting-edge production methods, a wafer-thin layer of colorful abalone is applied to a carrier and encased in transparent acrylic. The resulting durable material is perfect for making straight razor handles, enriching the piece with unusual colors and a three-dimensional look. The 6/8" blade of this exceptional singing straight razor has an extremely hollow grind with serration on both sides. The French point of the blade made from O1 carbon steel matches the unusual abalone handle. These blades are *NOT* shave ready - they will need to be honed. The so-called broadswords refer to particularly powerful razors and not only inspire confirmed lovers of the classic wet shave, but also us, again and again. The mighty 7/8 inch wide blade of this exceptional razor also carries a Barber's Notch. Paua are crustaceans of the abalone genus, but unlike abalones they are only found in the unspoilt nature of New Zealand's coastal waters. They have been used by the Maori as traditional body ornaments for many centuries and are still used today as decorations for figures, weapons and meeting houses. The impressive handle scales are absolutely unique in colour and pattern. In addition to the extraordinary adhesion material, which is additionally provided with an ornamental rivet, the detailed blade laser engraving immediately catches the eye. This listing is for one sharpening stone. The photograph is representative of what you may receive. Not suitable for : Chamfering and chip removal Dimensions: 150x40mm, thickness varies. Directions for use: Wet the stone under running water and then pass the razor with “outward” movements on both sides, keeping the stone wet from time to time. Finish directly under running water. The stone provides a sharp and effective edge finish. Recommended for users with some sharpening experience due to the narrow size, this stone fits well in the palm of the hand. Although the estimated grit is 8000-10000, the abrasive power of this stone is very respectable. It only takes a few strokes of the razor over the stone to realize how much material is removed. For this reason, it is important for the user to be careful not to apply too much force to the razor when passing over the stone. According to the manufacturer, Ardennes Coticule, the stone is already lapped and ready to use. However, we would recommend flattening these stones before use. This stone should be used on the yellow side. Selected Belgian Yellow Natural Stone can be used with or without slurry. To obtain a slurry, we recommend using a Ardennes Selected stone bout (sold separately).

While forged razors and the classic wet shave are experiencing a renaissance, genuine broadswords are still rare. For the first time in decades, perhaps even centuries, 8/8 inch wide razors are back in our range. In times when the mighty blades were even more common, 8/8 inch wide razors with straight heads were called 14s. This marking was stamped into the tang of the blade before the forged blades were hardened. We did not miss this special feature and also implemented it in our Böker 14. The 8/8 inch wide blade not only bears a historical blade etching with partial gilding, but also a gilded blade back and tang, which is elegantly decorated by a filigree and detailed laser engraving. The complete polishing of the blade and the serration on both sides of the tang round off the features of this knife. We have also used historical models as a basis for the material used for the handle. The handle made of dark, slightly transparent acrylic blends harmoniously into the overall picture due to the subtle brass inlay. The blade is ground extra hollow with ridge. The cut and polished shells of the pearl oysters were once a common currency and have been used in the production of jewellery for a long time. The scales of the Boker Mother of Pearl are made of mother-of-pearl imitation and are very robust in contrast to the natural material. Sanjo, a town in Niigata in northern Japan is renowned for its specialist blacksmiths. One of the most famous workshops bears the Iwasaki name. Imported directly from Japan, these authentic razors are made with Swedish Sandvik steel laminated to a softer jigane low carbon steel. They have been made in the same way for over 50 years.
