Black Ship Grooming Co. Captain's Pipe Artisan Tallow Shaving Soap, 4oz

This scent reminds me of a cross between Captain Black and Prince Albert pipe tobacco. The cherry is more like the cordial cherries you get at Christmas time. Together they make for a good combination that reminds me of when I smoked aromatic pipe tobaccos. The lather was a bit thicker and denser than I expected. I will definitely have to work on dialing in the water ratio.

Love it. Like all of black ships stuff, even scents i dont think ill like...i end up liking. Thick lather, big tubs, amazing scent. And not in a soapy scent way like others, hate it when i get a soap, and it just smells like soap...this stuff is spot on tho. Its actually becoming a problem for me, because every pay check i get another tub or two. Theyre just that good.

This was my second ever American soap and the one that kicked off my love of all things soaps and scents. The properties of this soap are first rate, especially slickness. The scent is my favourite part though and the reason I now own so many Cherry Pipe soaps, and Black Ship soaps as well. It's one of my favourite soaps and any wet shaver could do with any of the Black Ship soaps in their arsenal.

Just received “Beaver WoodWright Captain’s Pipe" shaving soap today,12/21/2015. This shaving soap is outstanding! The lather is excellent! The smell is definitely cherry pipe tobacco. The cherry is the first scent that hits you. I really must say I like this scent. The lather and slickness are excellent.I teamed this soap up with a Polsilver blade and had a winning combination!
