I love lime scented soaps, and Maggard's Limes & Bergamot shaving soap has a great lime scent and performance so I decided to give this bath soap a try. I am a big fan of artisan bath soaps and have tried dozens of different local companies. The packaging of Maggard's soap is really nice, as most artisan soap bars come wrapped in paper or are naked bars. Scent wise this soap smelled a bit more "peppery" than the Limes & Bergamot shaving soap which was a little odd. It isn't a bad smell, it just doesn't quite match the shaving soap. It felt really nice on my skin as I showered and my skin was soft and lightly scented after the shower both of which are nice.
My main complaint with this soap, and the reason I only gave it three stars is that is just doesn't last long enough. This bar shrank to nothing in less than a week. I kept this soap in an open glass dish outside of my shower as artisans soaps tend to "dissolve' fast if left in damp environments and they need air to dry properly. Most artisan soaps at this price last me two to three weeks when used in this way. Shrinking to a sliver in just under a week isn't typical and I bought two bars and both behaved the same way.
Also I don't know if the bars I got were "packed" well enough. Both had numerous air holds and gaps throughout the bar. This is also unusual my experience. Had these bars been properly milled or at least pressed into the mold with more pressure, they probably would have lasted longer.
TL;DR - Smells really nice but a bit sharper than the Limes & Bergamot shaving soap. Doesn't last as long as other artisan soaps I have tried.
