I put this knot in a 25mm Maggard Razors Shaving Brush Handle with the default seating (no coins to make the handle plug shallower), and it had very little splay without pressing really hard on my face. It had less splay and was more dense than the Kent Infinity Silvertex brush (which also does not have much splay at all). So if you like a dense synthetic brush with little to no splay, this is the one for you. Maybe if I put this knot in a 26mm handle or if I used some coins to make the handle plug shallower, maybe I could get more splay out if it. I think this is a great knot with soft fibers, it just has less splay/more backbone than I care for.
I swapped out the black and white knot for the timber wolf knot of the same size in the same handle and I liked it better as I like a little more splay in my brushes.
For reference, Brad gave the Maggard synthetic brush backbone order as follows (from least backbone to most): blonde, banded, wolf grey/black, then black/white.
